On Saturday, three Spanish Club members joined Señora Paulson for a taste of Nicaraguan cuisine at La Marimba restaurant in Hillsboro, followed by a local Dia de los Muertos festival at Keewaydin Farms near Viola. There were many opportunities to experience firsthand this beautiful Mexican celebration honoring deceased loved ones. Students created flower decorations made of corn husks, decorated tortillas, tasted pan de muerto (bread of the dead), listened to a live music performance, and helped contribute to the community ofrenda by harvesting marigolds grown right on site and bundling them to place on the altar honoring the dead. What a neat cultural experience to be a part of! We'll be back next year!

The LHS junior class attended the Wisconsin Education Fair and Career Expo on September 25th! The event was home to representatives from 75 colleges and 27 different career speakers. It was a great day to be a Wildcat!
